View looking north at the arched passage way that leads to the “spring chamber” associated with the Asclepion at Athens. This area is just to the north of the temple and altar of Asclepius. The spring chamber actually abuts up against the southern rock scarp of the acropolis.
At the time this image was taken the area was inaccessible to visitors due to on-going restorations
