View looking west at the upper rock cut foundations of the structures of the Asclepion.
On the right (north) side of the image are depressions where columns of the colonnade were located. To the left of center note the metal covering. This covers a pit where offerings were placed—bronze coins were found in it. Above the center of the image, still on the rock cut platform, another covering is barely visible. It is said that this is where the sacred snakes, associated with healing and Asclepius were kept.
