View looking southeast from OT Jericho. The orange roofed building in the lower left portion of the image covers the very powerful spring that is at the eastern foot of Jericho. This spring, plus others, waters the oasis of modern Jericho — it is called Elisha’s Spring (1 Kings 2:18–22).
In the center of the image the green oasis of modern Jericho is clearly visible. Just above the center of the image the reddish hills of Moab, on the east side of the Dead Sea (not visible) are clearly visible.
