View looking west northwest at the area where the Hasmoneans and Herod the Great built their palaces.
The Wadi Qilt runs from left (west) to right (east) just below the center horizontal of the image. In the center of the image, and to the center right are the remains of Herod's third and final palace here.
On the far left side of the image is a low mound where a succession of palaces were built in the late second and early first centuries BC.
