View looking north at the "Peristyle Courtyard" of Herod the Great's Third Palace at Jericho. This courtyard measured 62 x 62 ft. and on the far (north) side was a semicircular exedra.
The area between the columns and the walls was covered, while the large central area was open to the sky.
To the left (west) of the Courtyard was the "Great Reception Hall" and to the right (east) the remains of a Roman Bath.
