View looking northwest at the exterior of the Temple of Athena. It dates to approximately 500 B.C. It is surrounded by 6 x 13 (the typical n x [2n + 1] formula) Doric columns on a three-tiered base (= crepidoma). The upper portion of the temple is reconstructed from architectural elements found in the area.
