View from the southeast looking northwest. The Dome of the Rock is visible through the arches of the "arcade." This arcade is one of seven that lead up to the raise platform on top of which the Dome of the Rock stands. All of these arcades are at a ninety degree angle to the wall to which they are attached - except the one in the northwest corner of the the platform.
Many columns used in the construction of these arcades may have come from Christian Churches.
