View looking east. The stone structure on the right (south) side of the image is the exterior of the Citadel. Where the road disappears from view, it in fact turns right (south) and continues around the Armenian Quarter and proceeds down to the Western Wall and the Dung Gate.
In addition, where the road disappears, "David Street" continues, down, due east toward the Temple Mount Platform and the modern, and ancient, streets enter the Temple Mount (Haram esh–Sharif) on top of "Wilson’s Arch."
