View of the well-preserved Greek mosaic in the diakonikon of the seventh-century church.
Jerome Murphy-O'Connor translates the inscription as: "Simeon, friend of Christ, made and decorated this oratory and offered it to Christ our Lord in expiation of his sins and for the repose of his brothers, the hygumenos Georgios and the friend of Christ Dometios" (p. 146).
In the foreground, the split fish is rather interesting!
