View looking east at the entrance to the Roman Catholic “Chapel of the Flagellation.”
This is at the second station of the cross that commemorates Jesus being scourged by the Roman soldiers and especially where he “took up his cross.” It is just across the street from the Umariyya Boys School (the Antonia Fortress; Station 1).
