View looking down (northwest) on the synagogue as it is in the process of reconstruction.
On the left (south) side of the image the entrance to the synagogue is visible. The yellow crane was brought in and installed by Yehoshua Day. It not only moves up and down and sideways, but also runs on tracks along the outside walls of the synagogue. Initially it was used to assist in the removal and storage of large blocks of basalt stones from the synagogue but now it is being used to put the large basalt block back into place as the synagogue is being reconstructed.
