View looking south-southwest at the spring of Umm el-Qanatir. The spring "head" is beneath the arched structure on the left side of the image. Actually there is an additional arched area to the left of it—but it is shaded by vegetation.
Above and right of the center of the image are a series of pools that were used in processing the flax. This is the first flax processing installation found in Israel. Flax was actually grown down near the Sea of Galilee, 5 mi. [8.5 km.] to the west.
