View looking north at snow covered Mount Hermon in January. It rises to 9,232 ft. and is snow covered for six months of the year. Much of the moisture seeps into the limestone and reappears as powerful springs that feed the Jordan River as well as the Damascus Oasis.
It is also called Sirion and Senir (Deuteronomy 3:9).
