This mosaic shows some of the medallions— one with a geometric pattern and another with flute (notice the multiple reeds). This is part of a large mosaic that is in one of the rooms of a building that bordered the large marketplace in the Lower City of Diocaesarea on the west.
This area, and building, may have served as Diocaesarea's/Zippori's marketplace from the first to the fourth centuries, BC.
The University of South Florida excavated this area.
