A view of a remnant of a Roman Bath that was located in the large marketplace in the Lower City of Diocaesarea. This is the substructure of the "hot room" (caldarium). The "columns" would have supported the floor which was heated by the hot air that passed through this area.
This area, and structure, may have served as Diocaesarea's/Zippori's marketplace from the first to the fourth centuries, BC.
The University of South Florida excavated this area.
