View of a reconstruction of the Torah Shrine (aedicule) where the Torah scroll(s) may have been kept. The beautifully decorated post on the left is the original one found in the excavations of Chorazin—as is the gable over the top of the shrine.
For a similar type structure compare the Torah Shrine in the synagogue in Sardis, Turkey.
The synagogue was built some time during the 4th-6th century.
