A picture of the foundation of a round tower on the lower eastern slope of the southern part of the City of David. The asphalt is the road that runs north-south in the Kidron Valley.
The Tower might be Maccabean or later but its date and function are still unclear. Some have suggested that it may be the foundation of the tower mentioned in the Gospel of Luke (13:4).
