View of the remains of one of the four room (four–unit or Israelite) houses in the area of the fortress of Haluqim. The soldiers that were stationed at the fort—maybe with their families—lived in these houses.
The back room of the house is visible running from the bottom center to the left center of the image. Three parallel rooms are aligned perpendicular to this back room. This style of house was very common during the Israelite period (= Iron Age; 1200–586 B.C.).
