View of the small Peristyle Garden in the House of the Tragic Poet. It is only 20 x 20 feet in size and is surrounded on three sides by colonnades—one is visible in the image. In the center of the image, beyond the bushes, is a Lararium, a shrine that held the household gods and where family worship took place—possibly in the morning and evening.
