View looking west at the interior of the Saint Paul's Bay that is located on the northwest side of Malta.
This is the bay that has been suggested by many to be the bay where the ship that the Apostle Paul was on ran aground (Acts 27:6–28:1). It was a major harbor in the Roman Period (= NT era) and remains of a Roman road and baths have been found in the area—in Xemxija, the area with all of the modern buildings on the far side of the bay.
