View looking northwest at the southeastern wall (white limestone) of the Temple of Augustus. On the left (south) of the temple is the minaret of the Haçi Bayram mosque.
The temple was built over an older temple that had been dedicated to the Mother goddess, Cybele, and the moon good, Men. During the Byzantine period it was turned into a church. The three windows date to this period as does the white and red brick portion of the crypt of the church that are visible on the right (north) side of the image.
