One of the sarcophaguses from the city of the dead (= necropolis) of Ephesus. Note the use of bulls' heads, on the side, and rams' heads on the corners. The garlands were typically placed on bulls as they were being led away to be sacrificed. Note the two unfinished sarcophaguses behind the one in the foreground.
