View of one of the inscribed columns of the Prytaneum. The column is inscribed with the names of the Curetes who were high officials of the Temple of Artemis and who sometimes met in the Prytaneum.
It may be that "some of the officials of the province, friends of Paul, sent him a message begging him not venture into the theater" at the time of the riot, may have been based here (Acts 19:31).
Compare how it is said to the church at Philadelphia that they will be as columns in the temple of God, and will be inscribed with the name of God and the New Jerusalem. For other inscribed columns Click Here.
