View looking north at the "open space" of the agora of ancient Smyrna. On the left (west) notice the columns where the western portico and the western Cryptoporticus is located. On the far (north) side of the agora is a "basilica"—it is covered by a protective covering because of the valuable wall graffiti in the lower Cryptoportius.
