View of the interior of some of the shops located in the agora of Alexandria Troas that is situated west of the Forum.
This was the lower level of a two-story structure and is called a cryptoporticus. In the center note the well-carved door jams and lintel and on the left the brick arch work as well as the carved corner stones.
Cryptoporticuses have been found at Smyrna and Thessalonica.
