View looking north at the acropolis of ancient Philadelphia. The acropolis is the ridge on the horizon and stretches from the house to the cluster of trees.
Very little excavation has taken place, although the meager remains of the entrance to a theater are visible as one climbs up to the top of the acropolis. No excavations have taken place in Alashehir (save in the Byzantine Church), but remnants of the ancient wall are visible in the city.
