View looking east down the large courtyard of the House of the Vestal Virgins. The actual "house" is located at the far end of the green grass.
Visible in the green grass are the three pools is the large courtyard of the "house"—with white plastic lining. The 12 white columns on the left (north) side supported statues of the Vestals. The buildings on the right of garden are built on the north slope of the Palatine Hill and overlook the Forum.
