View of the Iron Age/Herodian well located in the lower central portion of the tell. Here water was first collected in a reservoir and later this well was dug to tap into the ground water.
Since there are few springs nearby, water at Arad need to be collected in a reservoir or wells had to be dug to ensure an adequate water supply for the inhabitants of the city.
