A small metallic votive offering of an ear, from Fabia Secunda, dedicated to Asclepius Soter (= Asclepius the Savior). This person was probably healed of some ear ailment and dedicated this votive offering to the healing deity Asclepius.

It is rare to find metallic offerings such as this, for they were probably rare to begin with, and after a period of time they may have been melted down and the metal used for another purpose. To view the much more common terracotta votive offerings (from Corinth Greece) Click Here .

This artifact is on display in the museum at Bergama (the modern city by Pergamum).
