View looking north into the orchestra of the Large Theater. This theater dates to the Hellenistic Period, it is located on the northwest side of the mound of Laodicea. In the lower right portion of the picture is the orchestra. In the upper right the upper portion of the cavea is visible as are some rows of seats. From there, follow the line down to the left edge of the image. This line defines where the skene of the theater was located. A few remnants of it are visible in the exact center of the image.
In the upper left portion of the image (taken in January) the Lycus Valley is visible. In the lower left portion of the image, additional seats of the cavea are visible.
