Herodian Temple

The temple that Zerubbabel completed (516 B.C.) was completely refurbished by King Herod the Great (37–4 B.C.). Major work was done from 18–16 B.C., but the construction project that he initiated was not completed until just prior to the beginning of the first Jewish Revolt against the Romans (A.D. 66).
