There are not too many significant archaeological remains from the Roman Period (the time of the Apostle Paul) on the island of Malta. However, there are a number of "traditional" places in Rabat/Mdina that is located in the west-central interior of the island. This city is built over the ancient capital of Melite—the Roman name for Malta.
