View looking southeast at the apodyterium (dressing room) located on the west side of the stadium. This structure measured 44 x 54 ft. [13.4 x 16.4 m.]. It had a central court that was open to the sky and that was surrounded by covered porticos in the Doric Style.
The central (open) courtyard is visible in the left (west) side of the image. The columns outline the boundaries of three of the porticos. Note just right of center, behind a pile of earth the archway of the entrance to the tunnel that led into the stadium.
The athletes undressed in this area and oiled themselves in preparation for the events in the stadium.
