View of the Latin inscription that mentions Babbius who was an aedile of Corinth.
John McRay translates the inscription as follows: “Cnaeus Babbius Philinus aedile and pontifex, had this monument erected at his own expense, and he approved it in his official capacity as douvir” pp. 332 in John McRay's Archaeology and the New Testament. Grand Rapids, MI: Baker, 1991. To view for purchase Click Here .
The “pine cone” on the top of the inscription may be a symbol of fertility.
