View from Radar Hill looking west at the antiquity site of Kh. el-Kefireh that is located 8.5 mi. WNW of Jerusalem. Chephirah is the flat hill just above the center of the picture. In the distance is the Coastal Plain region in the vicinity of the Aijalon Valley.
Chephirah was one of the four "Gibeonite" cities that tricked Joshua into making a covenant with them (Josh 9:17). It was allotted to the tribe of Benjamin (18:26) and it was later resettled by Jews returning from Babylonian exile (Ezra 2:25; Neh 7:29).
