The "Secret Passage" and arches. View looking west. The long passageway on the left half of the image, leading away from the viewer, is the so-called "Secret Passage," possibly dating to the Crusader Period. On the right side of the image are a series of arches which continue the line begun at the Temple Mount by Wilson's Arch and which progress westward to the western hill. The priests who lived on the western hill probably used a causeway in this area to walk to the Temple Mount. For a view of one of the arches click here.
