View of the well–preserved mosaic floor of one of the "Herodian Houses" that are presented in the Wohl Museum.

Note that there are no images of animals and/or humans on the floor—implying a Jewish resident!  Note also, the reproductions of the two lathe turned storage jars, the single leg table and the table with three legs.

This mosaic, and the ones at Masada, are some of the earliest examples yet found in Israel.  The mosaic floor and the artifacts found here are certainly indicators that a wealthy (= elite) family owned this house!

Because in a nearby, so–called "burnt house," a stone weight with the name of a priestly family, "Kathros," engraved on it was found, many believe that Jewish priests lived in these houses.
