View of a seven-branch candle (menorah) that is on the threshold in the forecourt of the sixth-century synagogue at Sardis.
Clearly visible are the seven branches of the menorah, the remnants of "flames" coming off the top of the branches, and the tripod that supported the menorah.
Why this is on the floor of the forecourt is a mystery to me!
