Entrance to Jewish Quarter

One of the entrances to the Jewish Quarter of Berea. In 1943 there were about 850 Jews in Berea. They were deported and annihilated by the Nazis. This quarter is called the "quarter of Barbouta" and most of the buildings date to the Ottoman Period (aka "Occupation").
