CRC Apse

View of the apse of the 14th century Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Berea/Verroia. The fresco above the altar pictures Mary holding Jesus—a very common theme.

There are over 50 Byzantine Churches in Verria/Verroia. In the Church of the Resurrection of Christ there are some very well preserved frescos by George Kaliergis, one of the great painters of the 14th century.
