CRC Dormition of Mary

View of the fresco of the Dormition of the Mother of God above the west entrance of the 14th century Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Berea/Verroia. The fresco above the altar pictures Mary holding Jesus—a very common theme.

There are over 50 Byzantine Churches in Verria/Verroia. In the Church of the Resurrection of Christ there are some very well preserved frescos by George Kaliergis, one of the great painters of the 14th century.
