Hasmonean House

photo

View looking at the well–preserved remnants of part of a dwelling from the Hasmonean Period. It is located on the southern slope of Nebi Samwil.

This Jewish settlement was built in the first quarter of the second century B.C. It was abandoned during the reign of King Alexander Jannaeus (r. 102–76 B.C.).
