Dome

Looking up at the large dome over the center of the Greek Orthodox sanctuary, the Catholicon, located east of the tomb of Jesus.

In the center is the risen, resurrected, and ruling Christ, and around him are representatives of the heavenly throng that worships him — including saints and angelic beings. For the Orthodox, this is a reminder that the earthly church joins the heavenly host in praising the ruling Christ.
