View looking east at the site of Sussita (center of the image). This site rises about 990 ft. [300 m.] above the surface of the Sea of Galilee, upon which it had a harbor.

Note the deep wadis to the left (north) and right (south) of the site.

This may be the "city on a hill" that Jesus referred to: Matt. 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
