Broad House Model

View of an Early Bronze Age model of an EB “broad house” found in the excavations at Arad! The door on the model (this is an ancient model about 4,800 years old!) is on the broad wall, as in the excavated remains of EB houses at Arad. Note the flat roof. The sparce rainfall in the area was probably diverted into the large cistern that was located at the low point of the EB city.

The model is on display in the Israel Museum, Jerusalem.
