Archway

photo

View looking north at the reconstructed archway that was built over the water channel that flows down the center—toward the viewer—of the main north-south street of Perga. This arch is dated to A.D. 81–84. In the distance is the nymphaeum from which the water flows into the channel. The column in the foreground is inscribed in Greek.
