East Gymnasium 2

View looking north at the prominent remains of the East Gymnasium. Note the combination of hewn stone and brick used in its construction.

It was probably constructed around A.D. 200 by Flavius Damianus. The major portion of the city of Ephesus is off to the left (west) of this structure.
