Citadel Entrance
photoView looking north at the "Gate of Persecution" that is one of the four gates that lead into the citadel—Ayasoluk. A wall that has at least 20 towers protects the citadel.
The wall is composed of local stone and of spoilia (recycled materials) from Ephesus and the Stadium of Ephesus—where Christians were persecuted!
