Emperor Cult Room

This image is one of the rooms in the north stoa that was dedicated to the worship of Roma and the Emperor Augustus. Inside of it two tablets were found that contain "The Emperor's Gospel." His birthday was considered to be the beginning of the "good news" (euangelion = gospel ).
