Leander’s Tower

In its current form, the tower/island dates to the eighteenth century. It has been used as a fortress, a quarantine center, a lighthouse, a customs control point, a tollgate, and as an observation post to monitor shipping through the Bosphorus. It is even featured in a James Bond movie!
